Why a Worker Cooperative?

Third Root is a worker cooperative that was created to provide affordable healthcare and enable health professionals to earn a livable wage at the same time. To be clear, the workers are in the cooperative — you do not need to join anything to come in for classes or treatments. As a worker cooperative, we:

• are jointly owned and democratically governed
• value openness and commit to social and environmental responsibility
• provide education and training for our workers
• agree to participate in a collective effort to serve the community and create an atmosphere of collaboration, not competition
• agree to generate interest in active healthcare, provide resources and encourage dialogue among health professionals

Last but not least, as group of individuals working together, we agree to initiate movements toward a healthful society with the steady guiding force of a waterfall instead of single drops of water.
