Cindy Samantha, MA, LMT, is a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist and a graduate from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City. A longtime New York City activist and organizer, she is passionate about social justice, as well as treating people who do not often have access to bodywork. She believes that, although many aspects of our society make it difficult to survive, every human being has the capacity for self-healing and full realization of their potential through both individual and community oriented work.
Deeply influenced by holistic healing models which see the mind, body, and spirit as interconnected and essential to health, she works to awaken and develop her clients’ own innate healing capacity to create long term and lasting change. She practices Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, and Sports Massage, specializes in Cranio-Sacral Therapy and enjoys practicing Thai massage and Tui Na. She also works with visceral manipulation, which works to balance internal organs through gentle palpation. She loves treating all clients, and especially loves working with trauma, chronic illness, people new to bodywork, and people experiencing anxiety and depression with integrated modalities. She also works with people in supporting gender identity work, and specializes in helping to affirm clients who are living across the gender spectrum. In addition to bodywork, she has also a MA in Geography, with a focus on the relationship between illness and poverty. She is very excited to join the Third Root Community, and learn more from both clients and other practitioners.
