Roopa Singh, member of the Third Root Collective and Counselor at Law, has taught pre-law and popular culture at City College and Pace University. Â As an attorney, her practice is in Intellectual Property, copyright and First Amendment matters. As a poet, she has workedÂ in prisons, and performed at Lincoln Center, the Three Riverâ€™s Arts Festival in Pittsburgh, the SanÂ Francisco Queer Arts Festival, APAture: Asian American Arts Festival, and toured the Caribbean with an independent hip hop crew. She has a law degree from UC Berkeley, a Masters in Cinema Studies from Tisch School of the Arts (NYU), and a degree in sound engineering from IAR. Â Roopa teaches Hip Hop Restorative Yoga at Third Root on Sundays and Wednesdays. Â She is in the process of writing a book called, Restoration: On Yoga and Hip Hop, drawing comparisons between the two popular culture phenomena.
