Julia is a Board-certified licensed acupuncturist trained in both Chinese and Japanese acupuncture. She has also completed extensive studies in Chinese herbal medicine and Native American herbal medicine. Julia’s particular passion is community health and the health concerns of women including working with women who have tested positive for HIV and AIDS.
Julia’s therapeutic work is appreciated at the National Black Woman’s Health Project, The LAP project at the Gay Men’s Health Crisis, People with AIDS Coalition, the Harlem United Community AIDS Center — Women in Crisis/Project Return, Women of the Round Table, and Casa Ache Atabex. She has done leadership training with Acupuncturists Without Borders and the NADA protocol using those models to develop community acupuncture projects and crisis centers in New York City. Her clinical experience extends to the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, in New York City; Lincoln Hospital Medical and Mental Health Center, in Bronx, NY; and St. John’s Riverside Hospital, in Yonkers, NY.
Julia ardently believes that the health challenges of our humanity must address wellness as a birthright. Through alternative and informed choices, communities may then transform their health status. With the use of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and the divine healing of compassionate touch, Julia stands as a committed vessel for the manifestation of this work for the wellness of all.
