Credit Card Policies
Same Day Appointments
For private appointments, we require at least 24 hours advance notice for any cancellation or rescheduling of private services. A $40 deposit will be collected to hold your appointment, and will be used toward your sliding scale rate at the time of service (see credit card policies below for more details). This fee will be returned if cancellation or reschedule occurs at least 24 hours in advance. For any cancellation or rescheduling of services made thereafter, we will retain the $40 fee. The same fee will be incurred for no show appointments.
Community acupuncture appointments may be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance, after which a $20 fee is incurred. Please arrive on time for all appointments. We cannot guarantee that you’ll be seen if you are more than 15 minutes late, and you may be subject to our cancellation policy.
Yoga classes and workshops booked online must be cancelled prior to the start time, or the full fee / deduction from your class card will be incurred. Please note: students must still sign in at the desk; students may be admitted to class no later than 15 minutes.
Yoga class card purchases are subject to expiration; they are non-refundable and non-transferable. New Student Special expires 30 days from first use; 10 Class Card expires 90 days from purchase; 20 Class Card expires 180 days from purchase; 3-Month Unlimited Auto-Pay cannot be frozen or cancelled. No transfers, refunds, extensions or exceptions, please honor our policy and refrain from asking for an exception.
Welcome! For your first appointment (any private session or community acupuncture), there is a one time administrative fee of $10 in addition to your sliding scale rate. When booking your service, please select the "Initial Session" option. Your initial session will include additional time to complete paperwork and familiarize yourself with our payment system.
All rates for our services* are based on a sliding scale. To determine your sliding scale rate on our sliding scale fee chart, everyone is required to complete our sliding scale worksheet. We intend for everyone to pay a similar percentage of their income for services - those who face greater economic hardship pay less, while those with more economic opportunities pay more. Please note, all services listed on our online booking software are set at the median of the sliding scale, your rate may be more or less depending on your household income. Please be prepared to make appropriate payment at the time of your visit (your credit card will not be charged upon booking, and you will have the opportunity to update your rate at the front desk).* except for weekly group yoga classes & "mini" sessions. We now require appointments for Community Acupuncture and we welcome same day bookings. Book community acupuncture online, or call us directly. Drop-ins treatment is contingent on appointment availability.
SAME DAY APPOINTMENTS
You may book appointments for private treatments or yoga classes online up to 24 hours ahead of time. To make an appointment with less than 24 hours notice, you must call us at 718-940-9343. For private treatments, we will contact your practitioner to confirm their availability. Please note, a limited number of our practitioners accept same day private appointments, we will always do our best to accommodate you. Yoga classes require no such confirmation process, and typically have open space up until start time.
CREDIT CARD POLICIES
When booking an appointment, a credit/debit card is required to hold your appointment. A deposit of $40 will be pre-authorized on your card at the time of booking. At the time of the appointment, you may choose to pay with credit/debit card, cash, check, or gift card (we accept all major credit cards except AmericanExpress).
We are committed to providing accessible and equitable care for all. If you are unable to provide a credit/debit card at time of booking, call the center at 718-940-9343 to book an appointment while making other arrangements to ensure our cancellation policy.
When are credit cards charged? Credit/debit card pre-authorization is required to guarantee our cancellation policy. In the event that you do not show up for your appointment or cancel within indicated time window, we will retain the $40 deposit unless alternate arrangements are made.
How do I know my credit card information will be safe? Third Root Community Health Center is committed to keeping your information safe. Our scheduling software company, Booker, is a Level 1 PCI compliant- the highest form of credit card security in the industry-- which means that they encrypt all customer credit card data and store it in their system. The information is not stored on the Third Root server and our staff, volunteers, and collective members can only view the last 4 digits of card numbers. At any time, you can edit your credit card information by logging in to your Third Root client account.
