This workshop is designed to teach individuals the power of their thoughts and words when it comes to exercise. Many of us workout or practice yoga and don’t realize how much our inner dialogue affects our experience. Through this workshop, participants will learn about Byron Katie’s The Work and reflect upon their thoughts and emotions as they progress through different movements. We will journal, do yoga and other strengthening exercises. Magdalene and Adele will guide participates in creating affirmations that can take with them wherever they go.
Adele Jackson-Gibson is a personal trainer and fitness Coach who specializes in CrossFit, HIIT-style workouts, sprinting and body weight exercises. The Buffalo, NY native is also a fitness model and a journalist who writes about women’s sports. Her aim is to empower the people she works with through teaching people how to embrace their inner strength, through sharing inspirational stories and embodying self-love. Adele has her CrossFit-L1 and her NASM personal training certificate.
Magdalene Martinez is a native New Yorker of Dominican Descent. She has a B.A in psychology, a minor in early childhood development and a M.S in Social Work. She has over ten years of experience working with children, youth and families. She received a yoga teacher certificate from Niroga Institute in California. Niroga is an organization committed to bringing yoga to highly needed communities. She is excited to teach to the communities of all shapes and sizes.
