Calia Marshall first encountered yoga as a college gym class and hated it. Soon after, she was introduced to a teacher who chanted and spoke about yoga philosophy- then she was hooked. Calia received her 200 training at Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in 2002 and has since taken trainings with Johnathan FitzGordon and Alison West in alignment and back care health. She is currently studying with Saul David Raye for her 500 hour certification, steeping herself in the practice of Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of love and devotion. Calia is also a member of Kirtan Soul Revival, a funky NYC band who shares mantra music.

Calia’s objective is to create experiences where students can heal, transform themselves from the inside out, and deepen their connection to breath, body and spirit. She strives to create a safe space for people of all genders, races, abilities and sizes to practice yoga in a supportive environment. As a teacher, Calia is playful, thoughtful, and open-hearted. Her practice of Bhakti yoga and kirtan, dance, and Reiki greatly inform her teaching. Through a mix of vinyasa, pranayama, restorative, chanting, and yogic philosophy, she balances flow, prana-centered movement, and healthy alignment to help students move through physical and emotional challenges and to attune to their own wisdom.
