Realizing Your Rhythms: Autumnal Allies

Event Details

Learning from the Earth to Shore Up so We Can Show Up!

Join us for an Afternoon of Learning About

  • Autumnal rhythms & energetics

  • What challenges & opportunities arise this season

  • What foods, movements, herbs, breathwork, & heartwork can align us with the ebbs & flow of Autumn

Through knowledge sharing, personal & collective reflections & visioning, and making medicine together, you will learn how to weave these seasonal insights into our personal rhythms to help remove obstacles to showing up in our lives & for our resistance movements with the fullness that we crave.

Together we will make a big patch of autumnal remedy extraordinaire Fire Cider! You will leave with some tea samplings as well as handouts to help you Remember to Remember. When the Fire Cider is ready, you’ll be notified to come scoop up your share & invite this collectively crafted botanical ally into your fall rhythms!

Avi-Rose, MS, E-RYT 200, is a queer community-based educator, multi-modal health & wellbeing clinician, herbal researcher, and project coordinator. Their roots & realities include a tangle of working class lessons, artistic lineage, inter-generational trauma, white-skin privilege, and immeasurable resilience and laughter. Rising from and growing within these contexts, Avi-Rose dedicates their efforts to cultivating justice & joy in all they do.

The seeds of respect for learning with & from plants were first planted here at Third Root in 2009: Countless seasons, mentors, classroom & earth based lessons later, Avi-Rose has woven a vitalist herbal framework with multiple modalities and an anti-oppression approach in their work of supporting individual & collective healing. As an educator and clinician, they value creating accessible & generative space to both offer knowledge and support others in accessing their own insights & relationships with political analysis, their bodies, and the earth.

You can learn more about their work and offerings at www.avi-rose.com

Laura Marie Ruocco is a Brooklyn based herbalist.  She believes that helping to reconnect people with plant medicine is an integral to the work of healing ourselves and healing the earth.  She has studied herbal medicine in NYC since 2010, and more recently learned from the plants in the forests, open fields, and wetlands of upstate New York.
