Yoga for Survivors with Exhale to Inhale’s Tara Johnson

Event Details

This event is running from 2 December 2018 until 27 January 2019. It is next occurring on January 20, 2019 2:30 pm

Exhale to Inhale (ETI) is a non-profit organization that uses the healing practice of trauma- informed yoga to empower survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The ETI approach is based in choice-making, safety, and simplicity.

Beginning on Sunday, Dec 2 through January 27th, Third Root will be hosting weekly ETI trauma-informed yoga classes (note: no class on Sunday Dec 23rd). These classes will create space for trauma survivors to reconnect to their bodies and their ability to make choices for themselves.

Everyone is welcome and anyone can benefit.

Classes are offered on a sliding scale, $5-25. Contributions will go towards supporting Exhale to Inhale programming and Third Root.

Tara Johnson completed her 200-hour yoga teacher certification at The Yoga School New York. During her teacher training, she found Exhale to Inhale and learned to incorporate its healing methodologies into her own personal yoga practice. As a former competitive figure skater, Tara practices yoga to reconnect with her body, breath, and mind. By day, Tara is an attorney practicing civil defense litigation in New York and New Jersey state and federal courts. In her spare time, Tara enjoys playing with her bulldog puppy, reading, and eating all the ice cream. As a survivor of domestic violence herself, Tara is forever grateful and honored to teach on behalf of ETI.  You can find out more at
