Private Acupuncture
Acupuncture helps heal chronic and acute conditions such as allergies, high blood pressure, pain & inflammation, digestive issues, sleep disorders, depression & anxiety, cravings & addiction, fertility and countless other issues.
At Third Root, your acupuncturist will carefully assess your chief concerns and tailor every appointment to your individual needs to create optimal health.
All of our acupuncturists have completed a master’s level program and are licensed by New York State. Only sterile, single-use needles are used. Treatment may include other Chinese Medicine practices in addition to acupuncture, such as moxibustion (warming herbs), cupping (heated suction), gua sha (skin scraping), electrical stimulation, tui na (Chinese massage), and herbal and nutritional counseling.
Community Acupuncture
Community Acupuncture was developed from a legacy of health advocacy led by the Black Panther Party and Young Lords. The Community Acupuncture format allows several people to be treated at a lower price point, while still allowing for social distancing and sanitization.
The experience is soothing and customized to the treatment needs of each individual. Acupuncture needles are administered in points that require minimum disrobing, such as on arms, legs, and sometimes the head.
Acupuncture Side Effects
Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years and is a safe method of treatment. Some occasional side effects may include: light bruising, numbness, or tingling near the needling sites, and bruising with cupping and gua sha.
On rare occasions a client may experience dizziness or fainting – practitioners will always stay with a client to assess further and support their health. Participating in treatment means replying on the acupuncturist to exercise judgment during the course of treatment and what is in the patient’s best interest. While the results of the treatment are not guaranteed, the practitioner will work with the patient toward their health goals to the best of their ability and training.
